Working From Home - Top Tips From the Boho Team
First of all, it goes without saying, we at Boho Marche are extremely lucky that our business can continue throughout Covid. We are also very lucky that we can work from home. As a team, we are grateful for the hard work from essential workers - NHS staff, retail staff, cleaners, carers, to name a few!
However, working from home can be difficult. It’s a massive change and working in an environment you usually rest in. So, we’ve called upon the team to share their best hints and tips for making working from home that little bit easier:
1. Keep your routine
It’s very tempting to roll out of bed anytime you like, forgo the shower and sport pyjamas all day. However, it’s not great for keeping you motivated. Getting up, clean and dressed in ‘people clothes’ can make a big difference to your day.
The same goes for those putting in overtime. It can be very tempting to work into the small hours but you really should stick to your work hours. Otherwise you could be headed for burnout.
2. Keep in touch
It’s very easy to keep yourself to yourself during this time. Now that we’re advised to stay at home it’s unlikely you’ll see your colleagues near as much as you used to - if at all. That doesn’t mean you can’t speak to them though. They are just a phone call or even video chat away.
3. Sit on a real chair
The sofa looks comfy, staying in bed seems even comfier. This isn’t a great idea though. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re in a place where you usually relax. It’s good to get into the ‘work’ headspace. If you have a desk, that’s great but if not, try forging your own workspace by using the dining room table. You’ll find yourself much more motivated and your posture will thank you for it.
